Tate McRae Maybe just be the coolest woman you know – and part of it is thanks to Gianna Corvino, founder of The new archive.
The vintage collects and designer is behind McRae’s coveted zebra pony hair fendi heels as well as the singer’s go-to baby tee. Now she tells one how she does it all.
“When he grew up on the Upper East Side in New York City, girls had Chanel backpacks at the age of 16 and luxury goods were everywhere. Instead of giving in to that pressure, my mother kept me ground and let me borrow from her closet. I didn’t even realize I was wearing vintage at the time I was Dad’s leather jackets, ”she explains.
What began to attack her parents’ wardrobes developed into a global treasure hunt. Today, Corvino is scorching everything from Paris Flea Markets to Upstate New York Estate Sales, Sourcing Standout -Detaches to himself, McRae, Lily RabeAnd more.
“The right piece doesn’t just finish a clothes, it helps you to separate yourself, whether on a red blanket or just on the way to work. … It’s some intuition, partial obsession. I’m constantly looking for pieces that trigger something in me,” she notes.
Among her personal favorites: Manolo Blahnik shoes, embroidered Christian Lacroix dresses, crocheted blumarine differs, colorful Dior tops and pearl fendi -baguettes.
For anyone who starts their own vintage mission, Corvino suggests starting with a strong sense of personal style.
“Once you know yourself, finding the right pieces becomes effortless.
If you want an extra hand, Corvino offers one-on-one deals on her curated showroom in New York City.
“I love doing private sourcing and styling sessions on New -archive headquarters. … I wanted the mood to be the opposite of a retail store and more like an elevated version of playing dress-up or going into your most stylish friend’s apartment. It’s a fun, intimate and nostalgic space. “
Staples you can’t leave without? Weared Levi’s, a leather bomber jacket, cowboy boots, ballet apartments and a pre-conceived clock. To smooth things out, Corvino says it’s all about adding the perfect graphic tee.
“A baby -tee is such a simple piece, but the right one can change your look completely, like carrying your personality on your sleeve, literally.… New -archive designs are fun, playful, naughty and a little girly … they land somewhere between the nostalgia of the justice stews we all grew up with, Rachel McAdams‘Iconic graphic tank while playing Regina George in Average girlsand Dior shirts from the early 2000s. “
