It’s been a while since we got a new Apple Watch SE: After the first version of Apple’s budget, which Smartwatch came out in 2020 and the second in 2022 with a few changes, the company has kept quiet for further releases. But new reports suggest that we will finally see the 3rd Gen see later in 2025 and that it will be in two new sizes.
On Tuesday, Ross Young tweeted, a remarkably reliable leaks and analyst, covering the screen supply chain that two Apple Watch SE screens have gone into production. (The tweet is only for subscribers.) The screens, he estimates, measures approx. 1.6 and 1.8 inches.
It is not easy to make a direct comparison between these numbers and those that apply to the current SE models because Apple gives the specifications of its smartwatch in another format – like the height of the house, rather than the diagonal measurement of the screen we would expect for all other products. For screen dimensions, we need to satisfy the different third -party measurements you find across the Internet that vary from place to place. But regardless of the sources you use, it seems that the new SE models are likely to move from a series 6 body to a series 7., which probably means a simultaneous switch from 40 mm and 44 mm cabinets for 41 and 45 mm.
Apart from pointing to a slight increase in size, there have been long -term rumors of a new plastic chassis design, although recent reports cast some doubt about this prediction and left the line in Limbo. The report does not mention other features, though it seems that see finally get an always-on-screen as well as a newer processor and possibly a temperature or ECG sensor.
After discarding the iPhone SE line earlier this year and its replacement with the more expensive iPhone 16E, it seemed possible that Apple could withdraw from the budget market and withdraw the Line. However, this latest rumor can be taken as something close to confirmation that Apple will keep low-end Apple Watch alive, though it is possible that Apple will change the name to the Apple Watch 11E.
But it looks like we can look ahead to a new Apple Watch Watch SEE in September along with series 11 (and possibly Ultra 3, though if it sticks to a two -year release plan, Ultra and see the lines in future get updates in alternative fall) and iPhone 17.
