Congratulations on new music Friday! The weekend is here, which means more streaming, new playlists and the best that music has to offer – and one you have covered everything in between.

Bet revealed the first slate of artists to 2025 Bet Awards. The set -up includes Lil Wayne, Teyana Taylor, Glorilla, Playboi Carti and Leon Thomas. The awards hosted by Kevin Hart will be broadcast live on June 9.

Janet Jackson will be honored with the prestigious Icon Award on 2025 American Music Awards. This is an honor given to an artist whose music has had an undeniable cultural and global influence on the music industry. Janet will also take the stage and mark his first TV performance since 2018. Other artists who have been announced include Benson Boone, Blake Shelton, Gloria Estefan, Gwen Stefani, Lainy Wilson and Renee Rapp. The prices hosted by Jennifer Lopez will be issued May 26 at CBS and streaming on Paramount+.

This week, Shakira started the North American leg of her record -breaking Las mujeres ya no lloran world tour. The driving began with a sold -out stadium show in Charlotte, NC followed by the first of two sold out nights at Metlife Stadium in East Rutherford, NJ. Shakira has the record for the most stadium dates of a female artist in a single city with 11 Mexico City shows.

Finneas revealed the official music video to “2001” From his album to Cryin ‘Out Loud! The video was directed by Claudia Sulewski and stars Finneas as a Lovestruck actor who was on the basis of his director on screen, played by Kate Hudson. Claudia shared, “When I first started conceptualizing this music video I knew I would pay tribute 2001: A Space OdysseyWith nods to some of the film’s most iconic setups such as the Fisheye lens and the reverse order along with a few small Easter eggs from the film’s behind the scenes. “

Rihanna has released a new song, “Friend of Mine” from Smurfs Movie Soundtrack. She will play as a smurfette in the movie out July 18. This is the second song that comes out of the soundtrack after “Higher Love” by Desi Trill with DJ Khaled, Cardi B, Natania and Subhi.
